Both the external and internal shuttle bus services in Nanyang Technological University (NTU) have seen improvements from 2016, with 4 external shuttle buses and 3 internal shuttle buses being added respectively.

Students living in Choa Chu Kang will now find it easier to obtain a seat on the shuttle buses, with a 6th bus being added to the current fleet of four. Each bus has a capacity of 40, and is 94.6% filled on average. It is currently the location with the most number of shuttle buses to NTU.

3 buses returning from NTU to Ang Mo Kio, Tampines and Seng kang have also been added to the shuttle services in 2016. They currently see a 100% ridership rate.

For internal shuttle buses, a morning bus running from the peak period of 8:00a.m.-10:30a.m. has been added to the Blue Campus Loop. This brings the total up from 6 buses to 7 buses. The current expected frequency of the buses is 5 to 6 minutes.

Due to the demand at the North Hill area, as well as Hall 8 and Hall 9, the passengers of the Yellow Campus Loop buses will now enjoy extra 2 morning buses and 1 evening bus. No standing is allowed as required by LTA.

In 2016, a full-time bus controller has been engaged to manage the bus fleet, improve the frequency and prevent bunching of the buses.

Also, students are hired as quality control surveyors and are located at all external shuttle bus pick-up points.

Currently, student helpers for Punggol and Choa Chu Kang are needed. Remuneration will be provided, along with a confirmed seat on the shuttle bus. The student helpers will be required to execute their duties once a week. Interested students may contact Joseph Tan by emailing to shuttlebus@ntu.edu.sg for an interview and briefing on the survey requirements.
